I really wanted to go to see this exhibition since a long moment. With my a few days of holidays, I finally found a small hole in my timetable to rush to go there. It is about the Fragonard Amoureux exhibition to the Museum of the Luxembourg in Paris. The media spoke a lot about it. Little before returning me there, I had documented with a special issue of the Figaro which taught a lot about the subject. Moreover, I recommend you to inquire about the subject before going to an exhibition, that can be a simple research on the Internet but it is so much more pleasant to know the universe of the artist and to know his biography. I liked a lot knowing and understanding what I saw.
Let us speak a little about the exhibition, I was not disappointed. Once again, if there was a reproach which I could make would be maybe the size of the exhibition whom I found little small. But I always want to see more. Beyond this detail, it is a very well realized, perfectly clear exhibition. You evolve in the soft and silky universe of Fragonard. The works are put in connection with other artists, as Boucher, its master as well as other contemporaries of Fragonard.
I liked this exhibition in general, it was realized well. On the other hand, I do not like so much the work of Fragonard. I like his universe and the sensual delight of dresses but I do not like his brushstroke on the canvas. I find him too flared. I’m more amateur of the work of Watteau, more precise to my taste. However, I admire his work of engraving and strong water which is much more interesting him. I let you judge by yourself, the exhibition ends on January 24th, 2015 that leaves the time to you to pass there. Besides, it is a very beautiful arrondissement.
