As I said, I really wanted to make an article on the Osiris exhibition that takes place at the Arab World Institute. I loved this exhibition and I like to share things I like. Before this exhibition, I did not know at all IMA and I even ignored its location in Paris, I had only seen the magnificent façade few times on television. It really is a sublime and perfect place to receive as majestic as this exhibition. I was very motivated and curious to discover this world engulfed so mysterious!
One of the first good point when arriving is the free audioguide with your ticket (which costs € 10-12 all the same). I’m not very audioguide, I think it creates a barrier between us and the artwork and less are observed, but for those interested, it’s always cool. Thus, past security and cash, you enter a large blue piece that recalls the seabed. It begins to tell us the myth of Osiris, like a magic story. I loved this mysterious atmosphere, it totally accords with the theme of the exhibition. There are already many artworks, each more beautiful than the other. You will also notice a statue measuring more than 3 meters, it is very impressive.
The exhibition features various artworks, original and different styles, there is a diversity and chronologically around the myth of Osiris. We understand the evolution of myth and his transfer to the Greek, it’s exciting. In imposing stone statues can be observed as if careful of jewelery and small that does not need a magnifying glass to see every detail. I am very impressed with such precision for so ancient civilization!
I highly recommend to go see this sublime explosion if you’re in Paris. It is very interesting, there are many explanations ( in the audio guide as written). There seems to escape into another world, it’s very exotic. It also explains a little research methods, we should not forget that marine researchers took to the bottom of the ocean to find these pearls of art.
