I write you these few lines with the stewed legs. I trotted all day long in Paris to see the Fiac but also Fiac off the walls. I had not been the last year there because disappointed two years ago. This year, I did not reflect. I am in the optics to make everything, see everything. I reports me that with the studies of art history whom I do, it is necessary to know about all which is made and before any, to be opened.
If you do not know Fiac, it is about a big show of contemporary art which takes place every year at the end of October in the Grand Palais. Numerous galleries of the whole world come to expose artists’ works which they represent. So, all the works which you can find are for sale there. Well on, the common run of people will have difficulty in offering itself a Picasso or a Modigliani but it is very pleasant to be able to approach them so near, it is a different context from museums.
Moreover, Fiac gets organized not at all as an exhibition. Galleries are installed in corner kicks more or less closed by walls. There is at in a row no logic in the exhibition of the works. You will not find either explanation on what you see, only the names of the artists are registered. However, if you have questions, you can ask it to the gallery owners who will explain you the approach of the artist.
While I had a bitter taste of this international fair of the contemporary art, I was seduced. I liked a lot the exposed works. There is numerous very talented artists. I note especially a lot of material on paintings. I adore this play)of texture and color. We also find works rather original. But if I have an advice to give you, Duchamp said that a work of art is not the result of the technique but the reflection. Think that there is doubtless something particular to understand that the artist wanted to reveal.
I tried to caption every work that I photographed but he can arrive that some remain unknown for me, I am sorry about it.
