I decided to open a new section: “Stop the waste!”. Perhaps the first real section of the blog as it is still brand new. We are interested more and more in what we eat, we choose organic and in this line of thought responsible for the planet, we do not want to throw.
I’m very careful what I buy not to waste. I should probably do my shopping every day. It may seem a bit excessive but at least I eat everything I bought. From the time I buy something in the idea of preparing “one of these days,” time passes, I have other desires and lied around for weeks in the fridge to finish in the trash. At least to make plannings for the week (which happens from time to time), I live from day to day and so I bought day to day. My fridge is also often very empty.
Therefore, I propose today an idea more than a recipe. This really is the year of strawberries. We tend to buy a lot (you know, the big crates they sell us) only, all it is difficult to eat quickly and after 2-3 days, they rot. Even if they do not appear in the photo, my strawberries had taken a hot shot. To keep a little longer and do not throw them away, I decided to make a healthy marmalade (not a jam that is too sweet).
This simple little marmalade is perfect on bread or with curd in the morning. This will especially keep a few more days ! 😉
For 1 small jars
Preparation time : 10 minutes / Cooking time : 20 minutes (approximately)
What you will need :
- 500g damaged strawberries
- 2 tbsp agave syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
1 . Just start preparing your strawberries by cutting them in half (for larger).
2. Cook the strawberries in a saucepan over low heat (3 of 6 for my fire). Stir regularly.
3.When strawberries are beginning to provide the juice, add the vanilla extract and agave syrup. Stir and make a little more leather. Make sure the pieces of strawberries are cooked and soft. You possibly can cook longer if you do not like large pieces. There you go! You’ve avoided wasting and you enjoy ! 😀
